The proper wearing of the school uniform is both an equity issue - all students regardless of socio-economic, cultural background etc. have access to the same uniform, and should expect to be treated in the same way - and a safety issue - wearing a uniform makes it easy to identify who does and does not belong at the school, who should and should not be on school grounds.
Uniform Exemptions
Students who have a genuine reason for not wearing full school uniform on a particular day should bring a note from their parents to the front office before 8:45am, so that they can be issued with a uniform pass.
Out of Uniform Process
Students who do not wear the proper uniform and do not have a note can expect one or more of the following consequences:
- be sent to the office for a uniform pass (this will be recorded as a negative incident on Sentral and appear in the student & parent portal);
- have items of non-school uniform clothing confiscated by staff;
- be asked to change out of non-school uniform items into second hand uniform items provided by the school;
- complete a lunchtime or after school detention for repeatedly failing to wear the uniform correctly.
