School planning and reporting

Planning and reporting help us meet the needs of our community, improve the quality of teaching and enhance outcomes for all of our students.

Strategic Improvement Plan

We have developed a Strategic Improvement Plan (SIP) in consultation with our community, identifying student outcomes and connected to a budget.

The School Excellence Framework (SEF) underpins our school planning and reporting approach. The framework provides a clear description of the key elements of high-quality practice across learning, teaching and leading.

The SIP is a working document that details the steps our school will take to improve learning outcomes, and the achievement and growth of all students. To ensure continuous improvement, the SIP reflects where our school is at and how it will further improve learning, teaching and leading.

It demonstrates our alignment and our commitment to excellence as part of public education in NSW to ensure a profound difference to the ongoing growth and development of our students.

Students and teacher

The FSHS school plan has been developed in consultation with staff, students, and parents through various focus group activities and a community forum. The initial framework of the plan was developed at the annual executive conference. Parent, student and teacher representatives provided valuable input to the development of the three strategic directions.

FSHS School strategic directions 2024 - 2027

Strategic Direction 1

Student growth and attainment

Our purpose is to ensure that students maximise their learning outcomes through research-informed, highly effective teaching practices. Professional learning will focus upon evidence-based strategies to build teacher capacity with an increased focus on high potential and gifted education (HPGE) strategies. The use of available data will be critical to informing staff to address underachievement and maximise student growth and attainment.

Strategic Direction 2

Quality Teacher Practice

To inspire deep understanding, scaffold excellence and promote transferable skills among our gifted and high potential learners through building a shared vision and language for staff Professional Learning, enhancing teacher collaboration, boosting self-efficacy and promoting critically reflective practice.

Strategic Direction 3

A Culture of High Expectations

To develop students' responsibility as learners and build their agency in making improvements. We aim to foster an environment where students are self-directed, take initiative and grasp opportunities, thus realising their potential across the four domains of giftedness. The school will foster a culture which encourages high potential learners to realise and achieve their best.
